Hard to ART when there’s no available flat surface and I can’t find anything. Enjoying some MUCH needed time in my studio, making use of Full Moon Energy to re-vitalize my creative space.
Inside and Out.
The time is upon us.
The 2013 ABQ Zine Fest is in THREE DAYS!!
And so I’m all packed for Zine Fest and my studio is all packed up. Mostly. (do you know that I’m moving in a week and a half? I haven’t talked about it much … but, yeah, my family is moving back home) So I created some little mobile art stations for myself, so I can stay connected to that which soothes my soul.
I am super excited to have my table again this year. And I’m looking forward to using my new table cloth and showing off my new zines.
I’ll post some pictures and I’ll tweet during the day. Hope to see you there! Lemme know if you follow my blog. It’d be cool to meet you.
I got a new one.
A long-reach stapler.
I’m a REAL ziner now.
25″ reach power-assisted long-reach stapler. Black. With Red accents. 1 Finger Easy Jam Free. Includes ruler & sliding paper guide.
It’s hot.
I’m collating my lil’zine “SPARKS ¡adult! POEMS” for the Dirty Zine Reading this coming Sunday at the Tannex.
I’m gonna go staple now.
well, it’s done.
I have finished the apocalypse.
The Zine of the Apocalypse, inspired by the turning of the b’ak’tun in the Mayan calendar last December. I’ll have full versions available at Zine Fest this year. You can check out the first half here on my blog.
And check out the Playlist for the Apocalypse! I created a YouTube channel for my art stuff.
I *LOVE* having free time to zine and play with my stamps and scissors and glue and stuff.
Tonight I’m working on the covers for an off-shoot – a spore, if you will – of TheZINEsaurus … SPARKS, a pART of my FOUR MOONS STUDIO …
I’ve compiled a couple of adult poems I’ve written and some images to go with them. I’ll be reading them at the Dirty Zine Reading in September. There will be some copies for purchase there that night and at the 2013 ABQ Zine Fest. If you can’t make it to Albuquerque for either of these events, and you want a copy of the zine, message me and we’ll exchange PayPal and addresses. And, eventually, I’ll have an etsy store for my FOUR MOONS STUDIO, and you’ll be able to order copies of my zine there.
I was at work last night, working. (night nurse) And I while I was in a patient’s room, I thought of one of my stories that would make a FANTASTIC zine!!! And I thought at the time, I should go write that down, so that I can remember it later, when I’m needing inspiration.
And, after I left the room, not only did I forget to write it down, I have also forgotten the story idea.
Fiddle. (or other expletive you wanna put in here)
If it was that great of an idea, it should come back around.
Hopefully.
found some atlas maps that (hopefully) will work for my zine on our road trip earlier this month … cutting, taping, the usual
the GRAND OPENING of The Tannex, home of the Albuquerque Zine Library was AWESOME!! did you see some of the pix? I posted ’em on my Facebook page … The whole thing was very inspirational and fun and hip and fueled my passion for art and writing and makin’ my zine.
so in March (and maybe some of February; I forgot when I started), I’ve been working on the next long edition of TheZINEsaurus: II.IV. on depression [… see humorous post on the loss of my limbic system …] and I’m hoping to have it finished by the end of April. I updated the time count down widget thing on the right —>
And I have a one page-r poem-art-thing that I will release on May 1 for Masturbation Month that will be for adults only. Honesty expected. No special log in required.
so I’ll keep you posted about zine stuff and randomness in my word world …
hopefully the spring winds are fueling your passions as well!
old filling station garage; a rare rainy day in Albuquerque, NM; December, 2012; not spring, per se, yet inspirational for me, all the same
I can never remember how to spell committment. Oh. Apparently only one m. Comittment. Or one t. Commitment.
See? This is why I can’t ever remember how to spell it. To me, if you start off with two m’s, then you should end with two t’s. That shows commitment. Starting with two m’s and ending with only half the t’s see incomplete, somehow.
I am commited (SEE? – NO SENSE! it’s committed with two t’s) committed <sigh>
I have to go to work tonight.
I would rather stay home and work on my zine.
(committee.) <harumph> (just as I suspected…)
I’ve fully completed 22 pages + the front and back covers. I have 8 pages or so that I want to include.
I write big. (should it be “big-ly”? that sounds weird – I guess it needs a modifier)
My handwriting is big.
I’ve (mostly) completed 17 pages of the latest edition in progress. I’ll finish somewhere between 22 and 34.
I’ve got a few photos to print to put in place. Alas, I am low on yellow ink. So, I’ll get some more later today and keep going. Right now I’m gluing. And admiring what I’ve done & figuring out where it’s going.
I’ve flipped around, apparently and by happenstance, to get some daylight and enjoy the Autumnal Equinox.
Blessings of balance on your day!
