Well, it took me the better part of the afternoon.  I cleared my desk of all the business-y sort of paperwork that had piled up in the past week. And now I can get down to the fun of zine’ing.

Worked on a mini-zine last week. I’ll post it later today. Promise.

And it rained this afternoon. Life is good.

home. road. house. family. journey. cloud.

some of the words from the Thesaurus and Dictionary and book of Synonyms, Antonyms, and Prepositions that I have that I’m copying for my Road Trip Zine. There are some interesting associations. Not as dramatic as some of the past issues, but, hey, it’s a road trip. It’s not supposed to be serious.

zine’in’. working on the middle touches. It’s like last minute touches, except that they happen in the middle. I’ve got most of the photos into the places where they’ll go. Now I’m adding zine flare. This is the really fun part!!

I’ll post a page later today (this week-ish) so you can see an example of what I’ve been working on for the Road Trip Zine.

Standard

I got some photo paper for the ink jet printer that I have. And I working out which of all the snap shots that I took during my road trip last month to include in my zine about the trip.  And I’m putting down some (more) of my thoughts about home and family.

As opposed to s’mores thoughts.

Which I have from time to time, too.

We did not have s’mores on the road trip. We had beef jerky, orange juice drinks, Dr. Peppers, popcorn, and peanut butter and crackers. This is not an exhaustive list.

excerpt of my thoughts:

Family is not the same thing as Home.

It was hard not to include the part of the map of Missouri that I grew up in, the part that I think of as Home.  And not to include the part of Texas that is also Home.  New Mexico is a home away from Home, much like Chicago, New Orleans, and – now – Kansas City.

found some atlas maps that (hopefully) will work for my zine on our road trip earlier this month … cutting, taping, the usual

Aside

Mark your calendars. This fall, October 5 – 6, Third Annual ABQ Zine Fest!!

TheZINEsaurus has signed up to table. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More details to come.

And in other news, I have been working on a zine from my road trip earlier this month. And, in a sort of way, I’ve been working on my depression zine by not being as depressed as earlier this year, which has dampened my spirits – so to speak – about writing about my depression.

This is the “sporadically” part, folks.

And there are still plans to make/publish the adult poem for masturbation month. May is masturbation month. When it posts, it’ll have this symbol

(‘)

to let you know it’s adult oriented.

ZINE FEST!

the GRAND OPENING of The Tannex, home of the Albuquerque Zine Library was AWESOME!! did you see some of the pix? I posted ’em on my Facebook page …  The whole thing was very inspirational and fun and hip and fueled my passion for art and writing and makin’ my zine.

so in March (and maybe some of February; I forgot when I started), I’ve been working on the next long edition of TheZINEsaurus: II.IV. on depression   [… see humorous post on the loss of my limbic system …] and I’m hoping to have it finished by the end of April. I updated the time count down widget thing on the right —>

And I have a one page-r poem-art-thing that I will release on May 1 for Masturbation Month that will be for adults only. Honesty expected. No special log in required.

so I’ll keep you posted about zine stuff and randomness in my word world …

hopefully the spring winds are fueling your passions as well!
